PROJECT 2: Progress of Model

The base showing: the pool and the steps for the reading area

North façade:

Windows' shape mirrors the balance between curvilinear forms (woman, water jug, etc) and linear/angular forms (window, table, etc) as depicted in the painting

North façade:

Viewed from the "inside" of the space, it shows the glass walkway/floor leading to the exterior of the space

Glass walkway/floor: this is set above the pool so as to create a surreal feeling - it is quite daunting and is a whole different experience as to walking on tiles, grass or concrete. This surrealism is meant to metaphysically connect with her reading. This also symbolises the link that has been established between the client and her main activities (similarly exhibited in the painting).

Curved wall: in-built shelves for her books and beauty products, these are set in a rhythmic pattern to create dynamism in reflection of the woman's personality and character (she's dynamic because she is a housewife, her job requires her to be kinetic not static). This perhaps might mean for her to remain static in this particular space, yet this dynamism is meant to reflect her being mentally stimulated.

The glazed roof: the curved bars mimic the curved wall
